BIKE4KEF 2023 –THE COMMUNITY COMES TOGETHER FOR KEF 

BIKE4KEF’S 10th Anniversary ride took place this past Sunday, with 300 riders participating in KEF’s largest ride to date.   After months of planning and ten days of intensive fundraising, we were overwhelmed and delighted as riders participated in a choice of three routes – 50km, 100km and 100 miles, with over 21,000km being cycled to support KEF.  The route was supported by a large, expert team of marshals, medics and mechanics with pit stops along the route and a professional control centre leading all participants to a seamless finish.   

The sun shone all day and excitement permeated the entire North West London.    The day culminated in a finish-line celebration at Hendon Park, where riders were greeted by their families and the KEF children. Excitement filled the air as the exhausted, but proud riders entered the park during the afternoon, with KEF’s EmCee greeting them from his suspended platform above the finish line.   Some riders were actually KEF participants who received an extra heart-warming welcome and cheer. As well as a range of activities for the children, the riders and their families enjoyed a fantastic BBQ with music, an acrobat show and a fantastic swing ride.

The positive energy to support KEF was infectious in the weeks leading up to the ride and throughout the day, culminating in over £790,000 being raised from almost 14,000 donations in unmatched funds received from all over the globe.  This outstanding success and the outpouring of love and support from the entire community means so much to all of us at KEF.

KEF is indebted to the event sponsors and its extremely dedicated BIKE4KEF committee who helped make BIKE4KEF this year so successful. 

Riders’ feedback has been extremely positive, with one rider commenting, “Coming to the finish line and seeing the kids that benefit from this organisation makes me feel humble that we put in 2-3 weeks of fundraising and training, but others are facing daily challenges, and it is such a privilege to be able to help them. I thank each and every person in this community who helps KEF.  May the organisation continue to grow and help many more families”. 

One emotional KEF mother sent the following message, “It was such a special day, it was so emotional to see the whole community coming out to support KEF and all of our children and families.  We are once again, left speechless after this wonderful day filled with so much love, laughter and generosity.” 

KEF’s slogan, “TOGETHER4KEF”, truly brought together riders, donors, volunteers and KEF families, united with their common goal to support the members of our community who need it most.  We would like to thank you all for supporting BIKE4KEF and enabling us to continue to provide this essential respite and support service.
