BIKE4KEF 2026 – Celebrating 20 Years of Transforming Lives
BIKE4KEF, one of North-West London's most cherished community events, took place this past Sunday, and the excitement is still resonating throughout the community. As KEF celebrated its 20th anniversary, this milestone year held special significance for everyone who participated and supported the event—a true celebration of the enduring network of love, care, and community that KEF has built.
KEF was founded in 2006 by Benny and Shelley Groszman and Shmulik and Channi Halpern, inspired by their children, Michali and Nuchi z"l, and just two other children – the brainchild of Batya Salomon (nee Heller). Over the past two decades, the organisation has grown into a vital source of support for more than 100 families.
This year – BIKE4KEF’s 13th cycle - 282 cyclists took part in BIKE4KEF, choosing from 50km, 100km, or 100-mile routes. Together, they covered more than 21,000 kilometres, with every mile ridden in support of children with disabilities and their families. They were supported by at team of over 100 dedicated marshals, paramedics, Hatzola members and logistics coordinators. Following last week's scorching temperatures, the perfect 24-degree weather was perfect for the cyclists.
The ride concluded in Hendon Park, which was once again transformed into a vibrant finish-line celebration. Riders were welcomed with excitement by their families and KEF children, creating an emotional and uplifting atmosphere. A fantastic BBQ, music, and family entertainment made it a memorable day for everyone involved.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of the community, more than £825,000 was raised through over 13,000 donations, demonstrating the unwavering support for KEF's mission, its remarkable volunteers, and the life-changing impact it has on so many families.
Feedback from participants has been overwhelmingly positive. One returning rider shared:
Every time, I think it cannot get better - but it is better year by year! More riders. More people wanting to help KEF and BH this year more people want to give and are still giving.
A heartfelt message from a KEF mother captured the emotion of the day:
“Thank you for everything you do for the kef families. Thank you to the bike riders for your energy and amazing effort. Thank you for riding for the wonderful kef. I love how the finish line event brings the whole community together”
BIKE4KEF 2026 once again demonstrated what KEF truly represents. It is far more than a charity—it is a family, where every mile matters, every volunteer makes a difference, and every act of kindness strengthens the foundation of the organisation.
KEF KIDS is so grateful to every rider, sponsor, donor, volunteer, and the phenomenal BIKE4KEF committee for making this year's event such an unforgettable success.
The achievements of KEF KIDS continue to stand as a lasting tribute to the legacy of Nuchi Halpern z"l.
